BS 7608:2014

Transforming Stress Limited staff developed the stress analysis guidelines (Annex C) of BS 7608:2014 ('Guide to fatigue design and assessment of steel products'). Our staff wrote Annex C before joining Transforming Stress Limited.

ISO/TC 44/WG 5

Transforming Stress Limited staff sat on an ISO working group ('Welding Simulation') and co-authored ISO/TS 18166:2016 ('Numerical welding simulation -- Execution and documentation'). Our staff co-authored ISO/TS 18166:2016 before joining Transforming Stress Limited.

The V Factor

Primary and secondary stresses are differentiated in assessments of component integrity. It is especially important to correctly determine the relative contributions of these two stress types when making assessment of flaw tolerance in welded joints. Transforming Stress Limited staff proposed the V factor for this purpose. V was an adaption of existing methods, and it now used in the following codes and standards.

  • R6
  • BS 7910:2013
  • API 579-1/ASME FFS-1

Our staff proposed the V factor before joining Transforming Stress Limited.
